Recently, to enrich my knowledge, I was engaged in a computer engineering project, which was to create a music box named Fabula that can interpret “moods” of music and generate corresponding lights. The idea originated from my Christmas orchestra concert, which could have been more remarkable with visual effects. Although the process involved complicated Math theories such as Fast Fourier Transformation, after several days of continuous computer coding, designing with the help of engineers and self-studying, I finally produced a prototype that fulfilled the request. I wish its presence in the real-time light-and-melody interaction in the future. The following is a video that demonstrates this project with more visuals.
